  • The Vancouver and District Junior (U18) Singles - Boys & Girls
  • The Vancouver and District Intermediate Men's Pairs
  • Our own Diamond Doubles & Norine Armstrong Women's Triples

Our Clubhouse

Our cosy clubhouse is nestled in the midst of Kerrisdale.  A great community facility!

Lawn Summer Nights

This is the 9th year that Lawn Summer Nights has been raising money to fight Cystic Fibrosis, helping people enjoy the summer season and getting 1,000's out to roll some bowls.  Kerrisdale has been a proud supporter of this event since 2011.  In its first year, this event raised $11,000 for CF.  That was pretty impressive.  Today, the event takes place across Canada from Charlottetown to Victoria with stops in Toronto, London, Calgary, Edmonton and, of course, Vancouver.  By 2016 the event had raised $2,000,000 over its lifetime.  You can learn more about the event right here.

Pictured right is the courageous Eva Markvoort, whose own battle with CF was the inspiration for Lawn Summer Nights and who was able to participate in the first event in 2009.

Trivia: the Vancouver event is held at Granville Park, includes 40 teams of rinks, has a $500 per team entry fee, and fills up in less than 5 minutes!!  This is by far the largest and most successful bowls event in Canada.

News from the Greens

In July we had two of the club's three open events run; both under sunny conditions and on great greens.

For the first time a Kerrisdale trio put their names on the Norine Armstrong Cup.  Barbara Hsieh's threesome was the only undefeated team on the day.  They had some help from club-mate Dianne Petrant who won her last match against Jenny Siu's team and prevented them from grabbing first place.

In the club's flagship event Kelvin Lai and Gigi Chan came out on top of the 16 team field which featured a large number of provincial medalists.  Kerrisdale members Dave & Chris Smith represented the club very well, reaching the semi-finals before bowing out.

One other note: 2 of the club's 3 Metro Vancouver Pennant teams have qualified for the play-offs.  The Thunder (Barrie Brown, Dave Arnott & Dave Goddard) and the Jackhammers (Jon Braun, Graham Miller & Matt Miller) will play in the semi-finals.  If both teams win, they will face off in the finals at New Westminster later in August.

Last, but definitely NOT least, the following club members have won BC Provincial medals this year:
Linda Ng (4!): Gold in the indoor triples, Silver in the indoor & outdoor singles, bronze in the indoor mixed pairs
Gordon Oikawa: Gold in the senior triples
Graham Miller: Bronze in the triples
Barrie Brown: Bronze in the triples
Marj Mitchell: Bronze in the indoor pairs
